Redirecting to "/" Problems

I am setting up redirects at the moment and I am having to redirect URL’s with spaces which render as “%20”. I have managed to solve this by encasing the URL’s in quotes, but now I am having another problem. For some reason, some of the URL’s with the “%20” are now redirecting to the “/” and for every subsequent URL which I add, another “/” is added.
For example:https://www.example.co.uk/Courses/%20Level%205 when redirected to https://www.example.co.uk/Courses/Level205 appears as a “/” in the redirects list.
Anyone know how to solve this?
