Cannot login to my wp-admin

It seems that your site url set wrong.
Try to set it in the wp-config.php
https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Changing_The_Site_URL
or in wp_options table in your DB

Thanks for this but this did not work. I put this below the first php line

update_option(‘siteurl’,’https://morningcampers.com’);
update_option(‘home’,’https://morningcampers.com’);

The website is visible but cannot access the admin area

Check what you have in .htaccess file in your WordPress folder

I have searched for .htaccess using the search box and a file is found however when I go to the folder and drill down I don’t see it. the search says it is should be in public_html/morningcampers.com

You should turn on Show Hidden Files option in your ftp client

I have found a link showing me how to show hidden files. However I am not asked as it goes straight through to the file manager

OK I have finally managed to find the .htaccess file but have no idea what I am supposed to be looking for.

There was all sorts of crap in front of the standard code which I think was put there by some plugin that protects against Brute Force logins – the link that fixed this was
