[1.0 Beta] Cannot use Text-Only Byline Editor

Thanks for reporting this, I hadn’t noticed this before. It’s a glitch in the options framework – I’m working on a fix.

Before to begin let me first congratulate for the awesome plugin you’ve developed.

Definitely one of the best I’ve used till now!

However there is a little problem about the functionality discussed in this thread.

I can’t make it work ??

It seems that only the defaults settings of the plugin are considered.

The byline directives specified in the shortcodes doesn’t seem to work properly (i.e. aren’t considered).

Have I maybe misunderstood the functionality or there is actually a known open issues related to the functionality under discussion?

Btw I didn’t investigate it but I also didn’t find nothing about it on the forum ??

I don’t know of any problems with this setting.

I just ran into something that may be counter-intuitive myself: galleries do not use the byline template editor setting. With a gallery you have to explicitly override it.

If that was not the problem, here’s a few things to test:

• Set the byline template to something like ‘This is the byline’ and the text only byline to something like ‘This is the text only byline’ and see if either of the two shows when you use the [wp-tiles] shortcode.
• If the above is not successful, try setting the template in the shortcode:

  [wp-tiles byline_template="This is the shortcode byline template" byline_template_textonly="This is the shortocde byline template text only"]

  And see which one shows up.

Let me know what the result of that test is! I hope we can find what the problem is.

Hi Mike I’ve just managed to solve my problem.

But sincerely I don’t know how…

I think I made some mistakes the first time I was setting up the tiles shortcodes with the byline directives.

I pulled down the latest dev branch from github this morning. The text only byline editor works. As far as I could tell from my quick tests all was working correctly.
