• I have previously named a folder the same as what I want a post slug to be. It contains pictures for that certain topic and I really can’t change it or the links will go dead. When I try to view this page it gives me a forbidden page. How do I fix this? .htaccess permissions? Am I screwed?

All my other folders are named different than my post slugs so I hadn’t ran into this problem before.

    Example:

    https://www.blog.com/how-to/brush-your-teeth = works fine
    https://www.blog.com/how-to/ = doesn’t work

There is a folder called how-to. Why is wordpress so upset with this URI?

  • Do you want the URI to appear to be a file in that directory? Why not just take out the dash? It’s not going to work like you’ve got it because they are competing names, and the server is going to go to a real directory over a pseudo-directory, such as the ones made by WordPress.
