  • I found the same problem with Finnish and your fix did solve it. But is there a more permanent fix, because every time I want to test a string, or make a change, or add a new plugin, then I have to go into the Cpanel file manager to change the file names back and forth?

    Moreover, I use MailChamp plugin, and it names the language files as mailchimp-for-wp-fi_FI.mo, and changing this to just fi.mo doesn’t actually work, or just changing the last part of the name.

    This problem of the file names seems pretty major – what’s going on? Sarukuku, you just linked to the front page, so I couldn’t figure out what you were pointing at.

    There’s little we can do. The plugin author must fix it. I just gave up with the plugin and started using Poedit in my development workflow.

    hi,
    can you help me with my site , which i use codestyle localization to translate it into japanese,
    but it just not happen as i did every as the guidance .
    any one can help email me on [email protected]

    @lologoo:

    You should be more descriptive with your problem in case you need somebody to be able to help you.
    Please tell us more.
    Thanks!

    In order to avoid having to rename the file each time, you can edit the codestyling-localization.php and change ‘fi_FI’ fields with ‘fi’. Save the changes, rename manually the fi_FI.po and fi_FI.mo files one time for fi.po and fi.mo of your theme/plugin. The next time you generate the .mo file it will be fi.mo, no more fi_FI.mo.
