Using/accessing alternate Page templates

    I’m really enjoying setting up a child theme using Water Lily but am surprised to find I’m not able to use alternate page templates (the option is missing from Page Attributes).

    I’ve added pages to the child theme – is there any way to access them other than via Page Attributes?

    An example is to create a Page template for the Contact 7 plugin – I obviously want to remove the comments from just that page.

    Your help would be much appreciated!

    Well hot diggedy dig! I just continued reading this Codex page:

    and I’d missed that I needed to add this to my page template (I’d copied the Water Lily page.php template into my child theme):

    <?php
    /*
    Template Name: My Custom Page
    */

    I’ve done this, overwritten the old version et voilà, I can now assign page templates.

    This makes for one happy bunny ??
