Cannot Log In to See my Dashboard/Lost Account

Thank you Tara. I reviewed the codex and tried all of these things to no avail. First, I tried cleaning my browser cookies. I renamed my plugins folder and the theme folder, with the only result being that my website wouldn’t load at all after the latter. I changed my password using the DreamHost pHpmyAdmin database and still could not log in. I also checked the wp-login.php file and made no changes since $user_login = $user_data->user_login was already in place. My site displays perfectly…there is just no bar at the top of the page showing I am logged in.

What should I try next?

I think I finally identified the problem. I kept trying to use https://wordpress.com/wp-login.php to login, which didn’t recognize by milagrecoa user name. However, when I tired logged in using https://www.wetlandtraining.dreamhosters.com/wp-admin, my username and password were recognized. What’s the distinction between the two that seems to invalidate my account? Can WordPress do anything to resolve this issue of continuity?

That link is to my parents’ original website, which I am editing using DreamHost and WordPress. I am using https://www.wetlandtraininginstitute.dreamhosters.com/
and https://www.wetlandtraining.dreamhosters.com/ to recreate/update the website.

WordPress had no record of my account

WP only keeps track of your account here, not on any site you usw WP on.

You need to talk to your host about using https vs http. It is something that needs to be settled at the server.

I don’t know what HTTPS has to do with this, but I looked at your sites and saw you have an account on both domains.

When you change the password via PHPMyAdmin, you MUST be sure to set the type to md5, or the password won’t work.

Did you try the normal ’email me a lost password’ setting?
