    Hi Valdemar,

It counts from the current time (eg. last 24 hours from now). The data is stored in two database tables: wp_popularpostsdata and wp_popularpostssummary.

Using the summary table we’re able to create our own ajax sorting mechanism, and fetch the popular posts. But your plugin, while registering the data, it can’t fetch our custom posts.

It has found one of the posts, based on the views, but we’ve got a popular site with thousands of posts. We’ve tried to see if there’s anything particular about this one posts, but we can’t seem to find anything. And also, it can’t fetch the comment count either.

    Anything you would recommend?

With custom posts, you mean custom post types correct? If so, someone else has reported something similar on another topic. I was certain that WPP was registering CPTs too, but if it’s not then I need to check.

Is that your case, too? CPT views are not being counted?

Custom post types, yes. These are not counted.

I see, thanks for confirming. I’ll take a look into it as soon as possible!

Let me know if there’s anything I can help you with!
Your plugin is very well written and I hate to customize it just for this minor issue.

Valdemar, could you please try the most recent beta version of the plugin and see if it resolves the problem? Get it here.

Just tried it – Doesn’t seem to work. Again, it only registers one of our CPT views.

Screenshot from the plugin. It registers one of our posts, but your tables are registering a lot of other posts which it doesn’t fetch.

If WPP was able to update the views count of at least one CPT, then the problem must be something else.

Can you please share your site’s URL (assuming it’s not this one, or is it?)?

Edit: nevermind, you already answered the question on your previous reply ??

I thought so too, but the again – The views are being recorded, but they aren’t fetched.

And yes, that is the site.

You see the popular ajax thing on the first page? that uses your tables.
Your widget isn’t enabled, since it only fetches one post.

Thanks for the screenshot. All of these entries on your the AJAX thing belong to the hil2_album post type?
