• I create the new site by worpdress version 3.9.1

I want to give some user role to access the dashboard e.g. editor, author, etc.

but I just create sample user to be author and subscriber, but none of them cannot access to the dashboard page, it occurs “You do not have sufficient permissions to access this page.”

I don’t know how to solve this problem, I didn’t configure anything yet, but actually any role can access to the dashboard since the first time to view their profile, right? but this situation seems can’t do nothing in the dashboard page except admin site. Could anyone help me to solve this and may be define some role to access to the dashboard for me e.g. author, editor, etc. Thank you very much

  • The WordPress defined Roles_and_Capabilities provides different levels of access to your WordPress site.

Only the Administrator level accounts have complete access to the Dashboard, however Author lever status can view their Profile (and make some changes), View Posts, Media Library and a few more things.

The issue may not with the roles, but with your browser if you are signing off as an Admin and then signing back in as an Author. The browser could be trying to redirect you a portion of the site only the Admin had access to. Try clearing the cache, or using a different a different browser that has not signed in as the Admin.
