    Dear Dana, if you put the width of sldier to 971px i think it will look nice on your website. You can do it by using Custom Options on right sidebar in slider’s admin panel.

    When I do that. the left sidebar overlaps it and cuts off the left end of the pictures. How can I get the slider to stay on top?

    Thanks,

    Dana

    Dear Dana, if you put the width more that the parent element slider will automatically resize and take the maximal available size.
    Please change the width to 971px and let us look whats happening.

    I just changed it to 971 px. Please take a look at it and let me know if it’s possible to prevent the sidebar from cutting off the left end of the pictures. They do appear, but initially the left end is cut off and it looks funny. At first when I set this slider up, the left end always stayed behind the slider. I really appreciate your help, trying to get my site right is becoming exhausting and I’m hoping to get it finished soon before I shoot myself. I really like this slider, I tried a bunch out, the left end cut off is the only main issue left on my site for now.

    Many thanks,

    Dana

    Dear @altmanmedia this happens because you put slider before your content and all the content of website goes down place change the slider position n your source try to insert it in the <article> tag.

    Thank you for your reply! Could you please be more specific about where to put the shortcode? I put it in content.php, but it seems to need to be at the top above the code that says <article id=”post-<?php the_ID(); ?>” <?php post_class(); ?>>
    <?php twentyfourteen_post_thumbnail(); ?>
    It looks better, even though it’s smaller and between the sidebars instead of spanning the whole page, but I’d be happy with it if I could get it centered better so there’s less room between the top of the slider and the header and more room between the botton of the slider and the article post. I would be vert grateful if you could give me some specific instructions.

    Many thanks,

    Dana

    Oops-please ignore my last reply. That didn’t work, it made the images in the post not appear when I linked to it. Grr… I just deleted the slider code since I’m stuck now. Please let me know more precisely on what page and where to put the shortcode. I would greatly appreciate your continued patience and help to resolve this.

    Thanks again,

    Dana

    I just put it in the header.php below the site title and it looks nice but when I post a link to the post page, the slider image shows instead of the post image. Double grr…

    I noticed the slider image is appearing when I try to post links to articles, except for the latest article. The older posts, it will initially preview the right image when I paste the link to the page, but as soon as I hit the share button, the slider image appears on the post.
