• I’ve been searching for a way of “freezing” or “retiring” a WordPress blog.

That is, is there a way to essentially make sure the content is there and available but that all interactivity has been disabled? (so that I can keep the blog up for reference but not have to deal with comment spam (or updating spam karma)

Educational users often want blog functionality for a semester or quarter… and would rather that the content not disappear afterwards but don’t want to have to continue maintaining an increasing number of WP installs.
