CAPTCHA or Honeypot with NSU Newsletter sign-up

Hi,
Is there a way to add a CAPTCHA or honey pot with the (NSU) Newsletter Sign Up plugin. Client refuses to have dbl opt in and we are being plagues by bots.
Your help will be very much appreciated.
Site: https://accordingtodawn.com/ has a sign up on the side bar in the blog feed and a dedicated page ‘subscribe’.
