• Hi!

I’ve been using Gigpress for years. Definitely the easiest to use and customise should you so wish. However, just recently the plugin won’t accept any new shows… I hadn’t updated WP for some time, so wondered whether that was the issue. After updating to the latest version i’m still having the same issue. Here are the steps:

      go to ‘Add a Show’
select artists + venue plus additional info
      hit ‘Add Show’ button

the screen refreshes but when i go to the site or the ‘shows’ tab, nothing has been added… Mysterious! Any ideas?

    Thanks!

Just to confirm a few more points; I have a WP multisite install and maintain a whole load of music sites that use Gigpress and they’re all experiencing the same problem… New shows just aren’t being accepted..

    Cheers.

Did you install GigPress in each site individually? GigPress won’t work as a network-wide plugin, as each site needs its own database tables.

Thanks for the quick reply. I’ve not ‘network activated’ the plugin. I’ve only activated it on the sites where it is needed. As i said, i’ve been using it in this configuration for some time now, so i’m not sure why it’s suddenly decided not to play game…

Gotcha – had to ask. I wonder if your host has changed something, perhaps added or changed mod_security? Do you have access to your server’s error logs? They may hold some answers.

Hmmm… the error log is completely empty (which doesn’t sound right either!) I’ve actually been having problems accessing phpMyAdmin (i’m on the case with that right now) so i wonder if that might be the root of the problem…

    Still waiting

Are you able to add/edit regular WordPress posts? I wonder if it’s a database permissions issue?

I have gigpress hardcoded at the moment in a template like so:

    <?php echo gigpress_shows() ?>

I tried adding the shortcode into the WP page too add did indeed get 2 copies of the shows appearing on the site which seemed to indicate that the database WAS getting accessed.

Can you add artists or venues directly?

no. Page looks like it’s going to refresh, but doesn’t enter anything

I would ask your host if they’ve changed anything lately, or if they have a record of mod_security blocking requests from inside WordPress.

Thanks so much for your assistance. I’ll get onto them right away. Cheers!

I have received a reply from my hosting. They say ” No changes have been made to the mod_security rules”. I reset my database password, just to see if that would kick-start things back into working but no luck. Weirdly enough, whenever i try adding a show now, it takes me back to the WP login screen… How frustrating!

Hmm – would you be willing to send me WordPress admin and server FTP credentials? I can’t help any further without some direct troubleshooting. [email protected]
