apostrophe’s produce a “forward slash” every time you save. So, for example, if I type the word you’ll and save, it will display, you\’ll. Every time I save the note, it will add yet another forward slash. So, if I save the note 10 times, I will get something like this you\\\\\\\\\\’ll.

This also appears using quotation marks.
