Menu messed up on its own

  • Hi,

    I haven’t checked my website for a few days and also haven’t logged in my WP dashboard. Yet, when I opened my site today the menu was messed up. Nothing serious, I fixed it but I’m wondering how that happened. Do you think someone was trying to hack my site or does this happen from time to time?
    By the way, the only thing that happened was that one of my pages all of a sudden wasn’t included in my main menu and so all the pages that had appeared under it (as a dropdown menu) before were now spread throughout the main menu area.

  • If your site updates WP and plugins automatically, this may occur.

    Solution:
    When the menu is not the same anymore, just do the following:

    • dashboard > appearance > menus
    • re-conferm / select the correct menu [at the top of the screen]
    • save all changes
    • <Ctrl-F5> refresh the browser
