Registration font size adjustment

How can I adjust the font size of the input fields in the registration form? Currently its too big – I want the form to look more like a form where the user doesnt have to scroll down as much.
Separately, is it possible to have the input fields side by side on different columns? i.e. the user would enter their City, State Zip on the same row.
