• Is there a way to lengthen the time delay between when you start typing in the post title field, and when WordPress auto-creates the permalink? I need more time to type in the title in such a way that the permalink says what I want it to. (And yes I know I can edit the permalink after it is created.)

Until you hit publish, the permalink will keep changing to match your post.

So if you title your post ‘Turtles who make money’ and save a draft, and then change it to ‘Puppies who make money’ the permalink will update.

Why do you need a delay?

I need a delay because I post sequential items whose titles differ only by one word. So I cut-and-paste the title from one post to the next, then try to quickly change the one word before the permalink is created. Sometimes I can do it in time, sometimes not. If it would just wait 10 more seconds I’d be home free.
