Blog Page problems

Absolutely love the theme! Great work.

I ran into a problem with the blog section of the installation. Anytime I set my homepage to static, with my “blog” page set for reading, it shows an all blank page. I’ve gotten around this with a slightly hackish way by creating “blog” as a category, and using ‘topic’ as an archive page. I find this to be silly as I’d like to easily display my featured images, and just remain compliant in the blog world. I’ve done quite a few changes to get this to work. I went as far as disabling all plugins, re-uploading core files, and digging through my loop/function file to try and find where things went array. I’m hoping that someone can help my solve this issue, as I’d really love to show the featured images within the blog page layout. I hope all this makes sense.
