  • Same problem here. Where did you download the version 7.0? I need my admin panel back ??

The first time you hit a page after the upgrade you’ll find a delay as WP Satistics processes the database changes, if you wait a bit the page should render when that completes. Otherwise, reloading the page should also work fine.

Nope, admin pages (eg. https://www.maillard.nl/wp-admin/index.php) is blank and stays blank. Even after reloading after 5 minutes …

You can download 7.0 from www.ads-software.com (https://downloads.www.ads-software.com/plugin/wp-statistics.7.0.zip), but there’s really just a single line difference between the two and it has to do with the upgrade tot he database.

If you look at the source code to the blank page (usually ctrl-u) do you see any errors at the end of it?

Are you seeing any errors in your PHP or web server logs?

I had the same problem…. repeated refreshes, no errors in PHP logs, admin page was blank (2 – 3 mins wait, followed by refreshes) and post-content screens stopped content display at point the widget was executed.

I manually disable the plugin by renaming the directory to verify the issue, then restored the name … and the problem seems to have gone away. The widget runs as expected, the admin panel is back and all seems well.

I just upgraded about 20 minutes ago and have hit the same problem. My error logs show a premature end of script error.

It is from this plugin as renaming the plugin directory fixes the issue.

Yep, renaming the directory (twice) did the job …

Well, I have renamed and renamed and renamed the directory a dozen times and it still does not work.

ezacharyk, can you provide the complete error message you see?

MichelV69, geurvanmaillard, that is very strange but glad it is working for you.

On a second look, the errors I have in my log are not from this plugin, they just happened around the same time. Sorry about that.

However, I have still not found a resolution. I tried renaming the directory and then installing the plugin fresh, but that did not work.

I checked a 3rd site I run that uses this plugin, which I have not updated yet, and it is running 6.1. I usually updated all my sites around the same time, so on the two sites I am having an issue with, would most likely have gone from version 6.1 to 7.0.1

Could that have been the issue?

No problem, do you have access to your sql server through phpMyAdmin or another avenue?

If so run the following SQL line on your wordpress database and see if it WP Statistics works afterwards:

    UPDATE wp_options SET option_value='7.0.1' WHERE 'option_name' = 'wp_statistics_plugin_version'

I had to remove the single quotes from around option_name, but that worked.

I renamed the folder via FTP and disabled the plugin. Now I can browse the admin pages. This is a great plugin and I think I will wait the other update to use it again without any problems.
