Language won't change outside the loop

    I have a strange behaviour after updating WP to 3.9 (from 3.8) and Polylang to 1.5.3 (from 1.4.something).

    While the contents of the page change correctly, the header, footer and menu contents won’t change.

    My theme (Responsive) supports custom menus etc, I tried re-saving everything.

    What I found out: the language only changes inside the loop. Since my theme tries to recognize the lange with pll_current_language() and switches the logo accordingly, I found out that even when set to en, the contents outside the loop still remain in de (default language).

    I have absolutely no clue where to start… Any idea?

  • I believe that I had the same issue. Just resolved it by re-setting Polylang’s settings. I changed the default language to another and saved that change then things started working again. Changed it back to what it was previously and it still all worked so maybe the settings just need to be reset?

    I am sorry, a firewall did some caching – nothing to do with the excellent plugin.
