Okay, so I figured out that the colored icons (images/icons/1x/[icon name here] has two versions. One -g and one -c. The C stands for color, correct? I was able to manually go in and edit and reupload to change the color for my icons, but I was wondering if there was some easier way? So far, my “likes” have the correct color icon. https://www.sanster.org

Hiya, just wanting to give a quick warning that your changes will be erased when the theme updates – including images, because they were made directly to the theme’s files.

As you can see Baskerville, like any theme distributed on www.ads-software.com, has a release history here: https://themes.svn.www.ads-software.com/baskerville/

That history shows all of the versions available. And in each version there is every single file that comes with a theme update.

This means when the theme updates it will copy and replace every single file and literally overwrite your changes to any file, including images.

! ?? Well thanks for the info, I definetly will backup and restore what I need. There were only like 6 images so I’m just editing them. What about the CSS I have modified?

CSS, images, anything modified will be erased.

The proper way to do things is to create a Child Theme: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Child_Themes – Any files in a Child Theme do not get touched in an update.

Then your CSS modifications go in your Child Theme style.css file.

And you can create a folder in your Child Theme directory called “images” and put your images in there. You may have to write your CSS to load the images from that folder instead of the actual theme’s folder, but that may happen automatically too.

I have the same problem, I want to re-color the icons in order to change the color scheme of the theme.

Primalsc2, can you give me a hint how to recolor the icons best?

I found where all of the files were in the theme, and I edited them in Photoshop. I would just put a new hue/saturation layer and copy that into all of them. If you don’t have photoshop, gimp should have that capability.

Thank you for the hint! I found a good Tutorial:

Hey is there an icon generator so i just change the one icon and it packages in all the different sizes?
