• For the past few weeks, everytime I click on the user menu option on the WordPress Admin Backend, the page attempts to load for a while, then gives the 504 gateway timeout message. Last time I was able to check there were 500+ subscribers to the site FWIW. I have attempted to download other plugins that could possibly get me into that list but to no avail.

Any thoughts on what can be causing this?

I have full access to every other part of the wordpress admin set of tools-menus.

Hard to find information on this subject online or these boards. Any help towards a solution would be appreciated.

I can successfully view/edit my profile (another tab on the ‘user’ menu) as additional info that may help.

  • Have you timed this pause when it’s loading? It sounds like either your host is overloaded, or that it’s reaching the php timeout variable. What does your host have to say about the error?

I think it is the timeout variable. Every other page, menu, aspect about the site and backend works properly. So frustrating. It ‘thinks’ about loading for 10+ seconds, then times out.

Do you see any error log in your WordPress directory that may point to a memory issue loading this? It could be named something like error_log.

No error log entries that I saw except this one….
