Twentyfourteen slider design breaks when window is resized

Hello, When using the slider in Twenty Fourteen and the window is resized to approximately mobile size, the design of the slider starts to break up: A huge gap with a diagonally striped area appears between the slider image/title panel and the paging buttons panel. A problem also appears when the window is resized back to fullscreen but this time the title panel and the panel behind the paging is completely missing, and the height of the slider image is way too short. Both these problems seems to auto-correct themselves when the slider paging is clicked, but it does’nt really look very nice. Does anyone know why the design does not update instantly when the browser is resized? Is there any fix for this problem?
