Category Posts Widget: after update all widgets gone

  • Category Posts Widget
    after the upgrade to 4.0 any sidebars containing the Category Posts Widget the widget is GONE.

    This has severaly affected many of my websites, I use this plugin in all of them.
    How can I fix and avoid?
