• I’m considering springing for the mid-tier $99 premium package at my wordpress.com blog, but only because I want to add a ThemeForest theme I plan on buying. Will the premium package allow me to use third party themes?

    Thanks to anyone who knows.

  • Hi, any themes don’t affect each other. You may plug in any theme any time.

Why do you have such question? Which premium package you mean?

I was under the impression WordPress doesn’t allow you to install third party themes without paying for customization features. Because when I go to Appearance, Themes now, there’s no option to install a third-party theme package.

I’m sorry, I wrote about wordpress as a cms.
Wordpress.com doesn’t give all opportunities of wordpress as a cms. Take cheap hosting and install wordpress, and then you will have full control for all options your website.

Correct. On WordPress.COM, you can’t just install any theme you like, you can only choose from those that are available to you (some are free and some are paid), and you can only customize them if you have a Premium subscription. A Premium subscription will not let you install a theme bought on Themeforest (or anywhere else). That can only be done on your own, self-hosted WordPress(.ORG) site.

    Correct

biranb7 for $99 you could get hosting and transfer your domain and have change to spare. You can’t load up a paid theme that isn’t part of the WordPress.com themes so don’t spring for the Themeforest theme if you are comfortable living on WordPress.com for the moment.

    hope that helps

Ah, so i need to get my blog away from WordPress.com’s blog site to use ThemeForest. I understand now, thanks. Do you know if I can get a domain using .com (say brianb7.com or whatever is available) from another host that uses WordPress? Or is everywhere else using WordPress an .org or .net?

    Thanks again

The .com vs. .org only referrers to literally https://wordpress.com/ vs. https://www.ads-software.com/ not the domain you’re using. You can use any domain. ??
