Hi, I have been searching this and reading up in my WP for Dummies book and I cannot find out exactly what I need to do to set up a new directory for my child theme.

Please help, how exactly do I do this?

    Cheers, GT

It’s just one folder and one style.css file that’s needed.

Check out that link and follow the steps.

Do you have ftp access to your site?

I have FTP through my CPanel I think, but have never used it.

PS I have already read that link, what I am stuck on is exactly how to do this…..

“Create a directory in your themes directory to hold the child theme.”
Nowhere does it say how to do this, its assumed I know…I don’t.

    Cheers….am I being thick?

It’s just one folder you need to upload to your current themes folder. Give it the name of your child theme of choice (my-child-theme)

If you prefer watching a video, you can try this. Hopefully between the two it will all make sense. If it doesn’t, check back here.
