passing variables wordpress page to wordpress page

I have read the FAQ’s but this just goes over my head with programming notes and language, sorry.
How can we pass a variable from the form on a wordpress page to the redirected wordpress page? And can we autofill another form on a wordpress page with variables passed from a form?
