    Released a plugin today that corrects the way WordPress handles curly quotes in certain situations. For example in (“hello”) the quotes now open and close around the word ‘hello’ instead of closing right after the first (

    Also, it stops WordPress from making the last quotes in ‘6’ or “6” into a single/double prime symbol. Does mean that you can’t type 5’6″ to mean 5 feet 6 inches, but I never did that anyway.

  • works great to fix some of the problems with smart quotes in WordPress 2.0 and beyond.

    However, it does not correctly handle the situation where you’ve got a URL behind the quotes and thus the opening <a href= tag

    for example:

    ("This works") works fine with your plugin.

    ("<a href=>this breaks</a>") is not correctly handled.
