Countdown Time Zone

As far as I can find, WordPress posts (and therefore Sportspress events) can only be set based on a static time zone. You set the site’s time zone, and that’s what time displays for the event.
The problem is that the countdown timer seems to countdown based on the user’s local machine. So if you set your event times and WordPress time zone based on Eastern time, but someone visiting the site lives in Los Angeles, the countdown timer is going to count down to a start time that’s 3 hours late.
Anybody know a fix for this? I’d love to be able to set the site time zone and event times to display based on local time, but I can’t find any WP plugins that’ll do that.
