randomly deleted posts – how did it happen and how do i recover?

in the last 12 hours, i have lost 2 separate posts. i dont know how it happened since i never clicked on them to delete. i was working on one of those two posts and publishing it, at which point the post manager showed it as a private entry. when i clicked on edit to publish the post, it was gone.
after trying to recreate that post from memory, it was entirely published, i had viewed it an hour ago, but having not even gone to dashboard, it is missing again. luckily the second time, i emailed myself the contents of that post.
in mysql under posts, there is no entries for either of the 2 posts. meaning i’m not sure if they can be recovered or not, which is unfortunate since it was rather lengthy and to be utilized for my master’s thesis. i have otherwise put out an appeal to readers to check their browser cache, though it is looking to be unfruitful.
how come all of my posts after feb 6 keep disappearing on me, how do i create a site cache, and is it going to be at all possible to ever recover those missing posts?
