• I accidentally set up my website to display postings on my legal notice page. I tried to produce a content page to transfer the postings to. The legal notice I had typed was wiped out when I set the site to display my postings on the legal notices page. I tried to transfer my postings to the new content page and found that it would not work. What I tried to do was change the listing on the reading page which appears under settings. Can someone tell me how to transfer my postings to my content page and restore my legal notice? I also would like to know how to reorder my pages on the bar as I want my home page to appear first and the software puts my new page first. My URL is puttingfoodby.info.

  • You seem confused about some of the basic functionality of WP. In your Settings/Reading, it sounds like you want to choose A Static Page and then set your front page to the Home Page and the posts page to the Content page.
If the content you wrote on the Legal Notices page is still there when you go to Dashboard/Pages, it will show up again. If it’s not, you may find it on the revisions of that page.

The other point of confusion you seem to have is around how the menu bar works. Dashboard/Appearance/Menus will let you change the order. The menu is just links to pages, posts, categories, links, etc. It’s helpful to realize that you have to set up pages, posts, etc, but they are not displayed until you have a menu or link to them somewhere.

This is basic stuff. You’ll figure it out with a little time. Good luck.
