Hello, and thanks for a great plugin! ?? I have one issue though. Your plugin seems to be in conflict with another plugin I use, Menu Icons: https://www.ads-software.com/plugins/menu-icons/. I really like both of these plugins, and can’t find a good replacement for either, so it would be great if the issue could be solved. So, here’s a description of the problem. When either Menu Icons or Better Admin Help Tabs are activated alone, there is no problem. But when both are activated together the problem appears. Then, go to Appearence > Menus and expand any menu item. The link “add icon” belonging to Menu Icons has grown in height and is now about 20 cm tall creating a huge amount of white space beneath the link text. At first i thought the rest of the options for the menu item was completely gone, but they are not… they’re just located about a pages height down. This would probably be some CSS-conflict, dont you think?
I’ve already posted about this issue in the support section of the other plugin also.

Hey thanks for reporting this, but I just checked it out and I can’t reproduce it on my end. I have tested on two sites with WP 3.9.1 and see no issues. Both plugins activated, easily able to add menu icon, no spacing issues I can detect. You might try changing your theme to see if it is related to your theme code.

Oh, ok… well my theme is a child theme developed by myself inheriting from Twenty Fourteen. But I have not made any changes in any CSS or other code for the admin section, only frontend, but ofcourse it could have something to do with Twenty Fourteen itself. If you can not reproduce this error, I will ofcourse have to do some investigation on my own, try with other themes etc. I have tested both plugins separately and the error occurs as I reported, when both of these plugins are active simultaneously, otherwise not. Thanks for your commitment, I will report back here if I find the issue myself.

By the way, I also have your other plugin Better Admin Pointers installed. And that plugin has no conflicts with Menu Icons. ??

Ok, so I have tried switching theme to Twenty Fourteen standard, TwentyTwelve and Classic… The problem persists and is the same. ?? And I have not changed anything in the core files, promise. If not a plugin have done it. Thats the next step ofcourse, disabling every plugin except these two, to check that there is not a third plugin involved. I will let you know.

Ok, every plugin deactivated (and I had about fourty) except Menu Icons and Better Admin Help Tabs. The problem persists… I will try switching to a basic theme with these settitngs also… hold on.

Same thing, with only Classic as a theme and every plugin disabled except Better Admin Help Tabs and Menu Icons, I still have this problem. Very, very strange, since You’ve tried it yourself, and dont have the issue. Maybe if the other plugin author responds with some clue. Anyway, thanks for your time, and a great plugin! ??

This is really strange, can you post a screenshot somewhere I can look at?

could not show the entire gap on one page so… here’s two images..

… and sorry about the Swedish.. but ‘V?lj ikon’ means ‘Choose icon’.. ??

    Thread Starter mepmepmep

    (@mepmepmep)

And the problem is… that the ‘V?lj ikon’ or ‘Choose icon’ link has grown vertically… A LOT.. It is not visible in these images but.. the link reaches all the way to the bottom of the second screenshot.. So something must have injected a lot of height to this link, and I have no idea what that could be.. except my suspicion is that it is CSS-related.

just curious, but what version of IE are you using? Can you try with Chrome instead of IE? Btw, I just tried it in the most recent version of IE and saw no issue…

Yes, Im using IE because thats also what my boss (who requested this page) is using. So, Yes it have to work with IE in this case. But that has not been an issue so far. I think IE has done quite a good job of cathing up lately… anyway: IE 11.0.9600.17239 is the version..

I will try with other browsers.. since I have them all installed.
