No, it is only possible to show a single dialog on a single page using Modal Dialog.

Any chance that in the future we could be able to open multiple modal windows?

In my opinion, once someome is willing to write code to manage opening 3 different dialogs based on different links, I don’t see what would keep that person from completely defining the contents of these three dialogs all using jQuery.

What do you see as the use case to have multiple dialogs attached to a page?

    Hi Yannick,
Well in our case for example we’d like to display a modal window to display our volume discounts in a table and we also have a button to report copyright infringement. If it was possible, we’d use your plugin to handle different modal windows on the same page.

I see. So both would be triggered by the user clicking on something, right? I have an idea on how this could be achieved. I will need a bit of time to implement. Hopefully in next week.

    Stay tuned.

    That’s right Yannick!

Would you be willing to test out the new version of Modal Dialog before I make it public? I have been doing some testing myself but want another pair or eyes.

You can download the beta version here:

Copy all files over your existing Modal Dialog installation. You can always roll back to the official release if you run into any issues.

The first thing I would like you to test is that the plugin still works as normal if you just load the new files without going to the admin pages and making any changes to configuration.

Then, go to the configuration panel and create multiple entries to be able to be loaded in the dialog. The idea here is that you can give a short name to the URL or blocks of content that you will load in your dialog. This short name will be used when opening the dialog.

Then, to open the default content (first entry), use the open_modal_dialog function as before, and to open the dialog with the content of another entry, call open_modal_dialog(‘name_of_entry’).

Thanks for letting me know if this works as expected or if you run into any issues. I will release this to all users once I hear back from you.

    Hello Yannick!

This was exactly the sort of functionality that I was looking for and was hoping to implement on the wordpress site that I’m helping redesign for my school. Would you mind if I downloaded the beta version and did some testing as well, to ensure that it functions how you would like it to and does what we’re hoping it’ll do on our website?

Thank you for all of your hard work!

Of course, go right ahead. I have not heard any feedback from the first person few people who were asking for this feature earlier in the thread and am still waiting on feedback before making an official release out of this.
