    Hi All,

I was switching back to a prior theme or at least I thought I was and go this

Fatal error: Cannot redeclare ashford_set_theme_style() (previously declared in /home/jfinnanc/public_html/shs/wp-content/themes/ashford_pro_old2/functions.php:287) in /home/jfinnanc/public_html/shs/wp-content/themes/ashford/library/ashford_functions.php on line 1543

Is there something I can do to get back to some simple theme and get back up and running?
    Thanks,
    Jeff

Sure, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and you’ll have a working site again.

Once back, you might want to get in touch with the theme’s designer about what went wrong.

Thanks for rapid response. I get a blank screen after rename, however.

At /wp-content/themes/ do you have a theme directory called twentyfourteen?

If not, download it from https://www.ads-software.com/themes/twentyfourteen and upload the expanded directory there, and never delete the default theme again. ??

If you do have a twentyfourteen theme already installed, then the problem could be a plugin conflict instead. Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

    Hi James,

I did have twentyfourteen there but re-installed anyway. That did not help. I went to your link about resetting plugins. Before I did any resetting I saw about loggin into wp-admin. I got in. Selected another theme that was working before. It worked! Back running.

    Thanks much for the help,
    Jeff
