feed stopped working

  • Hi,

    My website has been purring along for a while now going fine. and then suddenly today my feed stopped working and mailchimp newsletters didnt go out this morning.

    This page contains the following errors:

error on line 2 at column 6: XML declaration allowed only at the start of the document
Below is a rendering of the page up to the first error.

    I found this RSS Feed analyser and it is indicating there is empty space, i have seen people say this could cause an error – how would i fix this? – view analysis here

    Has anyone go any idea how to fix this?

  • Definitely a whitespace issue in the feed.

    Did any of your plugins or your theme update within the past day or so?

    To start troubleshooting this I’d deactivate all your plugins and reactivate one-by-one, checking the feed (make sure to disable caching when doing this).

    I had a child theme going, i deactivated that and cleared my cache and that seemed to have fixed it.

    I’ll have to comb through my child theme and find the error, i forget where i edited it last, but at least it was easy to switch over.
