No categories or permalinks

    I have a list of categories in place but I cannot add categories to new posts or edit categories of old posts. Furthermore, I have no permalinks in my file structure. I have only a home page (with all but one imported posts); no other links function. I’m using WordPress 2.0.4. in Earthlink. What is going on? Can I choose any of the Permalink options or is there a problem?
