    Hi,

Ok, so I logged into my account and decided to publish a post, but the SEO plug in (WordPress SEO by yoast) is no longer working, I can see it there on the page but I can only see the Title but the rest is gone.

Now I tried to move it, like I could before (change it’s position, minimize it etc..) but I couldn’t and then I clicked on the screen options on top and deselected it but it was still there, I deselected everything but nothing was affected.

when I use to add a featured image it use to open a popup for me to select an image from, but now when I click it it takes me to a new page and even after I select the image it gives me a white screen.

There is a plug in called “WPBakery Visual Composer” I got with the theme that I used for a while… it stopped working and now all I see in pages are coding (the plug in is installed and activated but no longer working)

    What I did after this:

I disabled most of the plugins since the rest were working fine but I only disable the ones I added this week.

I uploaded a backup of the theme (noting that the theme is working perfectly and the website is working perfectly as well)

I tried to search for mistakes in coding of the theme but I couldn’t find any.

and I noticed that the problem is only in these pages:

    – add new post
    – add new page

Try adding define('CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS', false); to your wp-config.php file just below the define('DB_HOST' line.

    https://codex.www.ads-software.com/Editing_wp-config.php#Disable_Javascript_Concatenation

If that doesn’t work, try downloading WordPress again and delete then replace your copies of everything except the wp-config.php file and the /wp-content/ directory with fresh copies from the download. This will effectively replace all of your core files without damaging your content and settings. Some uploaders tend to be unreliable when overwriting files, so don’t forget to delete the original files before replacing them.

Thanks for the reply but I am hosting my wordpress site on Godaddy and I am not sure how to get access to the wp-config.php file.

I have access to edit the theme under appearance/editor

Ohh and I forgot to mention that when I try to disable the plugin “WPBakery Visual Composer” so I can upload it again… it says that the plug in is disabled but when I check, it still is enabled

If GoDaddy has a file manager in their control panel, you can use that. Otherwise, use SFTP or FTP: https://codex.www.ads-software.com/FTP_Clients

it says that the plug in is disabled but when I check, it still is enabled

Are you using any sort of caching plugin, or do you see a “Clear/Purge Cache” button in your Dashboard or admin bar? If so, would you please try clearing the cache?

    Thread Starter RahalRalph

    (@rahalralph)

I tried to find a plugin that can clear the cashe but i couldn’t find any and the ones I found are no longer available for download or install so I cant use them. I couldn’t find any other plugin that can clear the cashe so if you know any please let me know. and Please note that on my dashboard I don’t have a clear cashe option :/

Since I don’t have access to the wp-config.php file I downloaded a FTP client and I am backing up all the files now so that I wont mess anything up after I edit them. will keep you posted as to what happens after I add ” define(‘CONCATENATE_SCRIPTS’, false); ”

If you aren’t already running a cache plugin, or you don’t see a button like “Clear Cache” in your Dashboard or admin bar, you have no cache to clear. You don’t need to install a cache plugin.

Please let us know how it goes after adding the concatenate line.

    Hi again,

I have added the concatenate line but nothing changed in the dashboard nor in the add post page, everything is still the same.

I noticed there is two wp-config files one “wp-config.php” and the second “wp-config.php.(numbers).php” is that normal? and there are like 6 files gd-config.(numers).php and 1 file gd-config.php I am guessing these are related to GoDaddy? I have to say that when I first started with this website I didn’t download nor upload anything, the wp dashboard came with the GoDaddy bundle and I can access it directly from my GoDaddy account.

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

That’s odd, I suppose they’re related to GoDaddy, given all the gd stuff?

Are you a part of GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress hosting?

    Thread Starter RahalRalph

    (@rahalralph)

yes actually I am a part of GoDaddy’s Managed WordPress hosting… would that change anything? :/

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Yes, that means that you do have a button titled “Clear Cache” in your Dashboard or admin bar.

If you don’t, you really should contact them. 24/7 WirdPress support is part of what they charge you for, and they have much better access to your site than we do. ??

    Thread Starter RahalRalph

    (@rahalralph)

well, I did call them and the only help they can give is to reset the wordpress website to a default theme and delete all the plugins…

and that’s not on my to do list.

last thing I’ll try is to download wordpress and upload fresh files

    Thread Starter RahalRalph

    (@rahalralph)

I did find the clear cashe thing, it’s actually “Flush Cache”
I clicked and it gave me a notice that the Cashe is cleared but the problem remains…

    Moderator James Huff

    (@macmanx)

Hm, ok, let’s go with GoDaddy’s advice, but we don’t actually have to delete anything to accomplish it.

Try manually resetting your plugins. If that resolves the issue, reactivate each one individually until you find the cause.

If that does not resolve the issue, access your server via FTP or SFTP, navigate to /wp-content/themes/ and rename the directory of your currently active theme. This will force the default theme to activate and hopefully rule-out a theme-specific issue (theme functions can interfere like plugins).

    Thread Starter RahalRalph

    (@rahalralph)

YES! and another YES after that.

Issue fixed, I have recently but not too recently added a page with a certain plugin with it. after I reset the plugins, I noticed that the page is no longer working properly and that was inside the website… I disabled the plugin and the website page worked but the original problem was still there. after I completely deleted that plugin the admin page worked perfectly and the SEO plugin is now working great and so is the visual composer… that is probably why I didn’t notice it at first because I disabled and enabled all the plugins and nothing worked, didn’t know I had to completely delete it.

thank you so much for the help James, My problem is now solved!
