• Since yesterday I’m experiencing big problems with the FB Open Graph Protocol: Newly posted blog articles don’t get any preview image nor preview text when shared on FB. Instead, only a grey frame containing the URL is shown on FB. However if I post an older blog article on FB, everything works fine.

I already tried to verify the URLs with the FB debugger (https://developers.facebook.com/tools/debug/) and there I get the following error message: “Errors that must be fixed: The ‘og:type’ property is required, but not present.”

Well, I already tried out new FB- and OG- plugins but even then (and also posting new articles with the new plugins switched on) the problem persists. Same when deactivating all plugins in my blog. So the problem seems to have resulted from something else… however I can’t explain what at all.

BEFORE the problem occured first time yesterday, I did NOT install any new plugin nor did I update something. AFTER the problem came out I updated WordPress from 3.9 to 4.0… but this did NOT change the issue.

Anyone with similar problems? Anyone knows what the problem could be?
