Can't access WP plugin repository after update

I updated to version 8.1 and now I can’t access the WP plugin repository. When I try, I get this error (An unexpected error occurred. Something may be wrong with www.ads-software.com or this server’s configuration. If you continue to have problems, please try the support forums.) When I deactivate connections, I have access again. This happened on both sites where I use the plugin. After updating the plugin (to 8.1) I was also not able to update to the latest versions of the WP 2012, 2013, and 2014 themes. It happened on these 2 sites (https://colfc.org/) and (https://kingdomvisionministries.com/).
