Why does this plugin change Chmod 0777 of uploads diretory

  • I have question, why does this plugin change the Chmod 0777 of its folder in the uploads directory, why does it need write permissions.

    Im currious because i test this plugin 6 times on clean wordpress install and all 6 times it changed the Chmod 0777 of its folder.

    seems very unsecure in conjunction with your file browser.

    can you please tell me why and how your plugin changes the Chmod to 0777

    you can change that from download-manager.php , find and replace 0777 with 0755 but it is not insecure.

    So again why does the public need write permissions, they can update and execute code on your site, or gain full access to your wordpress backend.

    so why does public need read, wtire, execute permissions and why does download manager need to set this to the entire uploads folder ?
