    Hi,

I’ve come across some problems with Deprecated Attributes. I set up a list of Location Attributes to create a form that users can fill in and edit their own single Location page. All seemed to be working, but I added some extra instructions to the Location Attribute to help the users fill in the field (or to remove a space) and now the Attributes appear at the bottom of the Location WP edit page under ‘Depreciated Attributes’. The note says to leave the value blank and save to remove these but it does not work.

Worse still when I write in the new updated Attribute field and click Update it puts this text in the old Attribute field and therefore it does not publish on the website.

I have tried saving the settings on and off and also deactivating the plugin but nothing changes. (This thread seemed to mention the same thing a year ago but was not resolved properly: https://www.ads-software.com/support/topic/delete-old-attributes-from-event-page?replies=20)

    Please help!

I have now gone into phpMyadmin and deleted the wp_postmeta database tables as suggested in the thread and the old Attributes have now been deleted from my Locations WP Edit page.

However, is there a way to stop this glitch so duplicate Attributes can be deleted properly in WordPress? I will need to update the Location Attribute names in the future and would prefer not to have to locate my databases each time to delete them!

By the way I am currently using the Twenty Fourteen theme and have no other plugins activated.

    Hi,

Which version of Events Manager and WordPress do you have?

sorry can’t replicate this issue and do you have a step by step guide on how we can replicate this?

    thanks

I’m afraid I didn’t do all my changes in a straight forward order so I’m not sure what caused this, but below is an overall summary of the steps I took:

    1. I initially created a list of Location Attributes and saved them in General Options.

    2. I then went into my Locations page and filled out the Location Attributes fields and Published the page. All displayed OK.

    3. I made changes to this page from a Front End User form that I set up for the Locations page. The user an Author with permissions only to Edit pages.

    4. I then logged in to the website with Admin again to change the Location page from Pending to Published. The page still displayed OK.

    5. Next I made changes to the Location Attributes to add extra instructions to the form labels (or to remove a spaces at the end of the Location Attribute)

    6. As Admin I then went into the Location page and noticed the duplicated Location Attribute fields and the error message at the bottom of the page.

    7. I tried writing in the new Location Attribute fields and clicked the Update button. Here is where one of old Location Attributes fields had text added instead of the new one I wrote in. The page did not publish the new text.

    8. I then tried updating the text from the Front End User Form and the fields did the same thing and did not publish the text on the page.

I have now deleted these duplicates via the database tables but will try making changes to the Location Attributes again today and see if I get new duplicates that cannot be deleted in WordPress.

    Thanks for your help.
