Inconsistent results between Google website Speed and this tool

  • Hi Matt,

    Just wondering what might be going on. With this tool (which is a great idea) I am getting a lot of responses saying the server responded slowly (> 4 seconds) but when I go to the Google website and run the tool I never have that listed as an issue. I have the setting enabled to wait 10 seconds between tests on the WP tool. I have manually as quick as possible run the webtool to see if constantly spamming it makes any difference to the speed results but cant get it to trigger any issues.

    Could you provide any insight on what might be happening here?

    I can’t think of any reasons that the reports should differ. The plugin uses the exact same pagespeed servers as you would use with the tool hosted on google’s pagespeed site.

    There is a google group that is monitored by the pagespeed team which might be able to provide insight on any possibly differences between their API and the tool they host.
