Plugin is using too much cpu power…

Has this issue been addressed, and if so, how far are you from fixing it?
After installing this plugin, all seemed to work ok, but my hosting server (hostgator) was complaining that this plugin was using way too much cpu resources. They (hostgator) allow 25% usage before they issue a warning. In the end, this plugin was using over 100% of the cpu usage in my cpanel.
This has something to do with the super cache plugin for wordpress. Can you suggest anything that would make this possible for me to use without over using cpu consumption?
I am trying to use this as a coming soon plugin for now, as my site is still being developed.
Side note: I did enable the progress bar feature, do you think if I disable that, it would drastically reduce cpu resources?
