  • I have the same issue. Some of the docs in groups return “Page not found” on the front end. However, if I hover over the link in the list of all the groups’ documents and select “Edit”, I can edit them. I can however not change any of the access settings. Almost all of the documents that doesn’t work are child documents to another document, but one of the child documents does work.

Running WP 4.0, BuddyPress 1.9.2 (have tried upgrading to 2.1.1 and that doesn’t change anything), BuddyPress Docs 1.8.3. All other plugins are updated to their latest versions. Running the Buddy theme from Theme Forest, latest version there also.

Tried deactivating all plugins except BuddyPress and BuddyPress Docs, no change. Also switched to the Twenty Fourteen theme, no change.

Also tried downgrading BuddyPress Docs to 1.7.1 and am now able to edit the settings for associated group, access etc. With version 1.8.0 and above these boxes are closed and when I click on them they don’t open and the browser returns to the top of the page.

When I use 1.7.1 and change the parent document setting to “None” the docs that returned “File not found” earlier work. No more 404!

There seems to be two separate issues here. Perhaps a JavaScript issue with the closed boxes introduced in 1.8.0 and then some permission issue with child documents. Any thoughts?

Thanks for the report. Can you share the format of the URLs you see when you get “Page not found” and, by contrast, when you are in fact able to edit the Docs? I’m guessing there’s a mismatch.

Regarding the settings: it sounds like there’s a javascript error. Can you open a browser console before clicking and let me know what you’re seeing?

I have this same problem. It only happens with docs that are set as child of a parent doc.

    e.g.

https://test3.croeze.net/wiki/profiel/edit/ opens correctly in edit mode, but https://test3.croeze.net/wiki/profiel/ does not open in view mode. Correct url for this should be https://test3.croeze.net/wiki/mijnwaaghalsjes/profiel/ (tested and does open the profiel doc in view mode)

It turns out we have the same issue.

As hcroeze said, this only happens with docs that are set as a child of a parent doc.

When I am on the docs page and look at the console, I see no error messages. Under ‘sources’ I see no docs javascripts loaded.

Ditto after i click on one of the doc that results in a 404 page.

I turned off plugins and changed the theme to twenty-fourteen and I still get the same error.

This should be fixed in 1.8.5. Please verify.
