I added this plugin this morning and just got the update for version 2.0.16. I’m running WP 3.9.2.

With a vanilla install of the free version, I set up my first modal without changing any default settings. After publishing the modal, I went to the page and added the link: <a href="#" class="eModal-1">here</a>
. Then I activated the modal from the menu under the wysiwyg and saved the page. When I go to the front end and click the link, nothing happens. If I move the link to the bottom of the content and click the link, it scrolls to the top of the page and nothing shows up.

I’ve checked that the .js files are being loaded correctly and that the source is showing the link with the class=”eModal-1″ in it. Furthermore, I deactivated every other plugin and then tried it and still no go.

Not sure what’s happening but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was something simple ??

Here’s the page, it’s the first link in the content: https://intakeportal.fosterintexas.org/phase-2/

    Hey Cawd,

You said vanilla but you didnt mention your extreme cache setup.

Your caching is causing the problems, The script is added to the footer properly but not being loaded as a JS file or included in the minified file. It should be though as it is properly enqueued by wordpress like anything else would be.

Try purging cache and cdn as that is likely where the problem lies.

I’m having the same issue and I’ve purged the cache several times and even the site-wide cache. Can’t quite figure out what’s going on.

I’ve set it to display on this page.

I’ve also set it display via the “Design Guide” link on this page

I was testing this out since I was planning on purchasing the full setup but I can’t get anything to display.

Hey Kjelerby, Design Guide link pops up a modal for me with an image containing options for shoes. The other link has a modal in the footer but no links or elements with the class to open it.

Other than that seems like all is working well.

My bad, I meant that the vanilla install was of the Easy Modal, not the WP. That WP for that one is crazy.. I don’t know who set it up but there’s random crap everywhere! I digress.

I purged the cache from the CDN and my local browser and got nothing. I even turned everything from CloudFlare off on that site and still didn’t load. Was there another cache issue that I missed?

    Thanks

    Hey CAWD,

Any chance we can upgrade your themes version of jQuery. Your theme seems to be loading a very old version.

    Your Version 1.4.2
    Current Version 1.11.1 or 2.1.1

WordPress currently uses 1.11.1 by default so your theme is likely overriding it in functions.php. simply commenting it out would likely fix most issues.

That did it! I didn’t even notice they were using such an old version. I can’t wait to get in here and update this site.

    Thanks!

Awesome, i believe it was a combination of caching and old version of jquery.
You should be able to set up cacheing again now safely.

Hello, we are running into the same issue as described above. You can view at: https://www.gsgivingcircle.org/about-us/who-we-are/

All was working fine, then we added some new links and now it doesn’t work. I’m also in the process of moving the site to a new server and it doesn’t work on the new server either.

I’ve tried clearing the cache but this didn’t appear to have an affect. Any guidance would be wonderful.

    thanks

All I can offer in this situation is to see if there is an older version of jquery running. That was my problem.
