• Hello,

It would be nice to have a button in the performance section to pause the caching, such as Cloudflare, where I can clear, put on pause, and have a couple of hours to fiddle things… I understand and observe that the Falcon cache clears when some changes happen, especially text changes to pages and posts… But I find that even that doesn’t always happen, usually it seems when there are html and/or text changes in the text tab of a page or post edit window… Also, often when a widget has settings changed and sometimes when a widget is removed Falcon cache doesn’t clear…

And almost always when there are changes to css in the child style.css file via the Editor selection under Appearance it doesn’t clear… Maybe other ways… I’m not logging details, just what I am noticing over several months now… There are moments of frustration, (did it clear, did it not?) so now I find myself with a tap open to the performance section and going there to clear the cache almost every time I make a change…

And when I go there to clear after changes such as above there are more often than not one or two or a few pages that were still cached, with the changes that were not showing appearing when it is cleared… Because I am working on a live site a lot of the time I don’t want to turn caching totally off, plus I imagine that would uninstall and reinstall code in the .htaccess file on a frequent basis, which I imagine to be a little risky…

    Kind regards…

  • Thanks for the idea. Off the top of my head, I don’t know what level of effort it would take to do, or if it was even possible. I’ll pass it on to the dev team on Friday and see what they say.

Any idea yet if this might happen… ? It sure would be helpful.

    Kind regards…

I haven’t heard yet. Some things are easily deployed into the code and some things take more time to implement. Its on their radar, though.

    Hi Tim,

Been three months since you you last said that this was on the radar… Wondering what is happening…? The issue still persists, changes in many areas including child theme and widget html plus some other unpredictable places do not clear the cache automatically…

It would sure be nice to have the possibility to pause Falcon caching in a similar way that I can with Cloudflare’s caching for instance… I suspect others would appreciate the possibility as well…

    Kind regards…

Much appreciating Wordfence for a long time now, and that it remains as comprehensive as it is in its free version, for our (so far) non-profit sites… And…

This continues to be the case, that Wordfence does not clear the cache in a lot of editing situations, especially when it is CSS or HTML edits, but other times relating to some plugins as well… And no predicting…

So once again it would be really really nice to have a Pause Button feature…

    Kind regards…
