Migrate to WP 3.9.1 from custom CMS

  • I am looking to migrate a bunch of custom CMS sites to WP. We have WP 3.9.1 installed on intranet. The theme is very basic.
    My sites do not have comments.

    I am looking to write a program to extract data from the current CMS for WP tables and just dump the data. I will eyeball the sites manually(with help from other staff) and clean up the sites.

    After going over the WP documentation, I understand that wp_posts has all the content.How to build the navigation tables. I got lost between wp_terms, wp_term_taxonomy.
