New theme creation, help needed

    Hello, I am new to the world of WP, and I must say its by far the best way to have content on the web, this is why I am moving my site from MKPortal 1.1.1 to the latest version of WP.

    I need to create a theme just like my current one, keeping the same header, but only 2 columns with content (not 3). I do not know how to create it myself, so I need some serious help, I know CSS and html but I have no prior experience with WP.

    If you wish to help me out, head on to the site https://latinforo.net to see the theme (MKPortal) and if it will be possible to keep the side menus as they are. Meaning:
    Donations
    Main Menu
    RSS subscription
    IPB Poll (IPB= Invision Power Boar/forum)
    IPB Stats
    Ads
    Blogroll (I know that one exists)

    All of those would be on a single column to the right, instead of their current setup on left and right columns.

    are those menus doable? can WP integrate with IPB?

    As you know CSS probably the best way to start is for you to review the 100’s of free themes available for WP and install those which are close to your needs. You can then customise / amend the files to meet your requirements rather than starting from scratch.

    Theme installation and switching are very easy in WP.

    ok, good idea on template, that I can do, thanks boiler, how about the IPB integration? any info on that?
