• I have run into a few problems with wordfence recently.

Today when I tried to log into my site it immediately took me to a locked out page, and did not go through the normal stage of stating that a code would be sent by text.

When I use the “If you are a site administrator and have been accidentally locked out, please enter your email in the box below and click “Send”” option, and enter my email address, the emails do not arrive until around 15 hours later, and just to rub it in they state the time they were activated (which was 15 or so hours earlier) and go on to say they have to be acted upon within 30 minutes!!

Yes, I realise I can remove wordfence from my site to gain access and then reinstall it, but I do not expect to have to go through that process so frequently, and expect this to work better.

  • hi Winyard

I’m sorry you are having issues with the plugin. I’m sure we can help.

I’ve escalated this to our dev team to look at the problem of the emails not being sent. Mostly when I have had issues with mail not being sent it turns out to be a server issue and not so much a wordpress issue. You might have your hosting provider check the mail queue and see if something is hung up there. Might just need a restart of postfix or sendmail. 15 hours for an email just seems really excessive. Let us know what they say.
