During the plugin update for Stream there’s a fatal error (see below) and “disable maintenance mode” seems to hang. This may or may not be related to the issue.

After updating Stream to version 2.0 (from 1.49 in our case) anytime a page is saved all ACF data is wiped from the specific post. This issue occurred both before and after the data migration (to the cloud). It doesn’t make a difference whether the plugin has been connected to WordPress.com for authorization.

I’ve tested this on a handful of installs across WP Engine, BlueHost and GoDaddy with the same results. Once Stream 2.0 is disabled we can save ACF data once again.

    From my tests:

(WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.0.0 with Stream 2.0 (ISSUE)
(WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.0.4 with Stream 2.0 (ISSUE)
(WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.0.8 with Stream 2.0 (ISSUE)
(WP 4.0) Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.0.8 with Stream 2.0 (ISSUE)

(WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields 4.3.8 with Stream 2.0 (No Issue)
(WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields 4.3.9 with Stream 2.0 (No Issue)

    Fatal Error:
    PHP Fatal error: require_once() [<a href='function.require'>function.require</a>]: Failed opening required '/nas/wp/www/xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/stream/includes/class-wp-stream-author.php' (include_path='.:/usr/share/php:/usr/share/pear') in /nas/wp/www/xxxxxx/wp-content/plugins/stream/includes/log.php on line 69, referer: https://xxxxxx.com/wp-admin/update-core.php?action=do-plugin-upgrade

  • Hi cc_sam! Sorry to hear about your issues here.

There was an SVN error that caused a corrupt package on WP.org but we fixed this 30 min after the release on Saturday.

Can you please try downloading and uploading the plugin again and let us know how you go?

    Hi Frankie,
    Thanks for the reply

I downloaded that zip and uploaded it replacing the existing stream folder. I’m experiencing the same issue. When I attempt to use a page with ACFs the data is wiped.

It’s worth mentioned when I compare the folder of Stream files from earlier this morning with the freshly downloaded URL you provided the files contained within are identical according to WinMerge.

Is there another source of 2.0 you can provide me with? (dropbox, git, etc)

I’ll take a more thorough look tomorrow morning.
    Thanks

    Justin

I’m experiencing the same issue with (WP 3.9.2) Advanced Custom Fields Pro 5.0.8 with Stream 2.0

    Hi Frankie,

I’ve had a chance to test more thoroughly and have tried ACF with Stream 2.0 on a fresh WP install with the same issue. When publishing a new post none of the ACF data is saved. When saving an existing post with ACF data it gets wiped out.

Hey everyone, we have fixed this problem in v2.0.1 of the plugin just released today.

Please update and confirm with us here that the issue is resolved.

    Thanks!

    Hi Frankie,

With version 2.0.1 of Stream the issue no longer occurs. I’m able to create new posts with ACFs, or save existing ACF data without the fields being wiped.

    Thanks for fixing this
    -Sam
